Palmyra

Palmyra is a small Burlington County community with a distinctive mix of older homes, waterfront communities, Delaware River access, and convenient transportation to Philadelphia. Much of the borough features homes built from the late 1800s through the 1950s, including Victorians, bungalows, Cape Cods, ranchers, and traditional two story homes. Palmyra Harbour offers condominium living along the Delaware River, while Riverfront at Palmyra provides newer townhouses and attached homes. Buyers are also drawn to Palmyra because the Tacony Palmyra Bridge begins right in town, providing direct access to Northeast Philadelphia. Palmyra has its own NJ TRANSIT River LINE station, with connections toward Camden and Trenton and access to PATCO for Philadelphia commuters. Routes 73 and 130 are also nearby.

Palmyra offers plenty of outdoor recreation for such a small community. Palmyra Cove Nature Park is a major attraction along the Delaware River, with walking trails, wetlands, wildlife viewing, fishing, and scenic river views. Broad Street serves as the borough’s traditional business corridor with local restaurants, shops, and services. Palmyra has its own public school district serving students through high school. Recent Bright MLS statistics show a median closed price of approximately $315,000 and a median of 20 days on the market, although prices vary considerably between condominiums, townhouses, and detached homes.
